Genshare welcomes Michael Heath as Chief Commercial Officer

We’re thrilled to welcome Michael Heath to the Genshare team as our new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

Michael joins us with a 24-year track record across commercial and corporate debt, capital markets, and business development. He most recently led the Treasury team at Judo Bank, where he helped grow the bank from an idea in year one, into a $13B+ ASX-listed market leader, and built out its warehouse securitisation lending platform. Earlier in his career, he was a founding member of NAB’s Succession Services team, helping small businesses navigate intergenerational transitions – a mission that aligns strongly with our work at Genshare.

As CCO, Michael will spearhead our capital strategy, helping us to acquire more great businesses from retiring owners and transition them to next-generation talent. He will also be responsible for execution of our business strategy more broadly.

Michael said:

“Genshare is the natural next step in my journey. I’ve spent years focused on lending products for Australian SMEs, and now I get the chance to deliver another hugely consequential and innovative solution for the same audience. I’m deeply passionate about Australia’s small business economy, and Genshare’s model of unlocking equity value for the next generation – while keeping great businesses in business – has the potential to create meaningful and lasting impact for millions of Australians.”

Genshare founder and CEO Steve Hibberd shared his enthusiasm:

“Michael’s exceptional track record of supporting the small business community could not be more aligned with our mission. His experience will help us move faster, scale bigger, and accelerate wealth transfer to the next generation.”

Michael’s appointment comes alongside another exciting update: Josh Rickel has been appointed as Chief Product Officer, where he’ll lead the development of Genshare’s technology platform.

Josh brings deep experience in building AI-powered products. He was most recently co-founder and COO at Perigon, an AI context platform turning global data and trends into actionable insights. Before that, he was a Partner at Notley, where he managed venture and private equity investments, and an early leader at Spredfast (now Khoros), where he played a key role in growing the company to a nine-figure exit.

At Genshare, Josh is focused on building automation into our acquisition platform, helping us source, evaluate, and acquire businesses faster and more efficiently.

We couldn’t be more excited to have Michael and Josh in these leadership positions. Their experience and expertise are essential for our next phase of growth.
