About the Role

General Manager and Co-owner
Lead and grow a service business | Operational, commercial and ownership impact


We are seeking an experienced General Manager who will also step in as a co-owner of a growing service-based business. This is a hands-on leadership and ownership opportunity for someone who can translate strategy into clear operational and financial outcomes, while building a strong, customer-focused culture and thinking like an investor in the long term.

The opportunity
As General Manager and Co-owner, you will be the business leader responsible for bringing the company’s vision to life through disciplined execution. You will own the connection between strategy, operations and financial performance, working closely with the Genshare team to deliver sustainable growth and longterm value. You will lead cross-functional teams (field and office), strengthen systems and processes, and ensure customers receive consistently high quality service, all with an owner’s mindset.


What you’ll be responsible for

  • Turning strategic direction into integrated sales, operations and financial plans for a servicebased business, with a clear focus on return on investment.
  • Setting and monitoring targets for revenue, margin, utilisation/productivity, service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring efficient scheduling, delivery and completion of work so customers receive prompt, professional service.
  • Maintaining and improving standard operating procedures for safety, compliance, quality and communication.
  • Leading and coaching operational and support teams to build a hightrust,
    highaccountability culture.
  • Acting as a primary business ambassador with key customers, partners and
    community or industry stakeholders.
  • Partnering with finance on budgeting, forecasting, profitability, cash flow and capital
    investment decisions, with a direct ownership stake in outcomes.
  • Preparing clear, concise reporting packs for fellow owners/board on financial
    performance, pipeline, risks, operations and culture.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to systems, processes and tools to support scalable growth and longterm enterprise value.

You will operate as the day-to-day business leader and coowner, with decision-making authority across operations, customer service, pricing within agreed parameters, and team management.

About you
You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have proven experience leading a team in a servicebased environment (e.g. trade services, facilities, logistics, professional services, healthcare, or similar).
  • Bring strong commercial acumen in pricing, job/project profitability, utilisation and
    cash flow, and are comfortable having “owner-level” financial conversations.
  • Are a clear, confident communicator who can move comfortably between frontline, office and boardroom discussions.
  • Know how to balance empathy with accountability in a small-to-medium business context.
  • Have a track record of improving systems and processes in a growing organisation.
  • Model integrity, reliability, professionalism and a genuine customerfirst mindset.
  • Are motivated by shared ownership, longterm value creation and the opportunity to build an asset, not just run a job.

Relevant tertiary qualifications (business, commerce, management or similar) are valued but not essential if you bring strong practical leadership, commercial results and an owner’s
mindset.
